Student Awards

Each year the CGCC offers awards to Cohasset High School graduating seniors who plan to continue their education after high school. The Applications are obtained from the CHS Guidance office and then submitted for consideration on dates provided by the high school. The students must submit a copy of their high school transcript and an essay explaining why they deserve the award. Special Consideration is given to the applicant’s financial need, a demonstrated interest in horticulture or the environment, and a spirit of volunteerism. The awards are distributed at the Awards Night ceremony held annually in early June at the CHS auditorium.

In addition the President and board may vote to award a President’s Award in any given year subject to funding. This award is offered to one or more graduating seniors from communities outside Cohasset and who are related to a current member. The criteria and application requirements are the same as those for Cohasset High School except the post graduate studies can include any accredited program of studies in horticulture, the environment, farming, landscape design, forestry, etc. as well as university studies. The President and committee will select the final recipients.

Academic Awards for 2023 were awarded to the following CHS seniors:

  • Morgan Ferreira

  • LauraSaiz
